CAIS Notices comes on Tuesday each week with announcements, reminders, and alerts. | | | Middle School Musical This Weekend! | | Friday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. Our Middle School students are staging an original musical revue called Time Warp and all families are invited! Come watch this incredible musical romp through history on the evening of Friday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m.
As Mr. Crow shared in the Middle School Update before February Break, "Prepare to laugh, gasp, cry, and holler as you join innocent little Angelina as she navigates a unique but familiar time machine to go back through the ages. Will she succeed in her musical mission to round up some of history's most compelling figures and bring them back to the present? Come see Time Warp and find out! This original script features songs from Come From Away, Damn Yankees, Thirteen, Wicked and others that will delight even the most discerning theatergoer."
As this is sure to be a popular event, it is strongly suggested to reserve a spot in our 455-seat theater by following this link. You will be able to guarantee one of our open seats; there is no assigned seating.

Featuring Jim Steyer, CEO of Common Sense, and Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair, author and clinical psychologist
As a co-sponsor of SPEAK, we invite all CAIS families and faculty to a fireside chat with Jim Steyer (Founder and CEO of Common Sense Media) and Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair (Clinical Psychologist and Author of The Big Disconnect) on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Town School for Boys. Steyer and Steiner-Adair are two of the most respected experts on issues related to technology, education and children in the United States today. As concerns arise regarding the effects of technology and social media usage on children’s mental health, state legislators are introducing measures to protect children while using the internet and internet-based forms of communication. In this fireside chat, we will learn about how pending legislation in 30 states and Puerto Rico may impact our children.
SPEAK promises that this discussion will equip you with the latest research on social media as it pertains to our children, insight into how to support our children and teenagers as they navigate this technology landscape, and tips on helping them use technology with awareness and mindfulness.

We will gather at the Dahlia Garden at 10:00 a.m. and ride together down the JFK Promenade all the way to Crossover Drive and then return. It will be an easy, car-free 2.5 mile trip.
Some volunteers will stay behind in the Dahlia Garden to provide support for first time cyclists. The loop at the Dahlia Garden is a less dense area that is a good place to practice. We should be back to the Dahlia Garden before noon. Picnicking is encouraged!
We are hoping to get broad participation from across grade levels at CAIS and are specifically requesting volunteers who would like to help on the morning of the ride. So if you have some cycling experience or would just like to help lead a “bike safe” day for the group, please reach out to Andrew McClelland (andrew.mcclelland@gmail.com). Even if you don’t wish to ride, but just want to pump up tires and adjust seats and brakes, we are hoping to make it a fun morning for everyone.
